Excursion 1 - Kašperk Castle and Motorcycle Museum

Kašperk Castle (www.kasperk.cz) was founded in 1356 by Charles IV. to protect the land border with Bavaria and gold mines. Kašperk is at present one of the most visited destinations in Šumava. An easy path of about 1.5 km leads from the parking to the castle.

Motorcycle Museum in Kašperské Hory (www.historicke-moto.cz) was established in 1990. It shows dozens of exhibits, including some of world unique. You can see an exhibition of beer bottles as well.

Excursion 2 - Hydroelectric power plants Vydra and Čeňkova Pila

The exhibition power plant Vydra includes a landscape model from Modrava to the confluence of the rivers Vydra and Křemelná, historical instruments and models of hydroelectric power plants with active simulation of the technological process. Visitors can see some of thematically related films and visit a national technical monument, a small hydroelectric power plant Čeňkova Pila from the year 1912. For interested a walk along the Vydra river is possible.
